As a WordPress Developer intern at Edversity, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing Edversity’s core website. Your role will involve working closely with the development team to implement designs, customize themes and plugins, and ensure the smooth functioning of Edversity’s online platforms.
Responsibilities:
Maintain WordPress website and web application, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
Collaborate with the design team to implement website designs, ensuring visual and functional consistency.
Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific project requirements.
Optimize website performance, including page load speed and overall user experience.
Troubleshoot and debug issues with existing WordPress websites, plugins, and themes.
Assist in the integration of third-party tools, APIs, and services into WordPress websites.
Ensure website security and implement necessary measures to protect against vulnerabilities.
Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and techniques, and recommend improvements to the development process.
Collaborate with other developers and contribute to the overall technical strategy of Edversity.
Requirements:
Experience with customizing WordPress themes and developing custom plugins.
Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
Knowledge of website optimization techniques, such as caching, minification, and CDNs.
Understanding of website security best practices and experience implementing security measures in WordPress.
Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve technical issues.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
A portfolio showcasing previous WordPress development projects.
Note: This is an internship position, and applicants should be currently enrolled in a university program or recently graduated.
